NATIONAL 7-10 OPEN CAMP (AIS CANBERRA)
WAG level 7 gymnasts Kylie-Ann De Vries, Isabella Rao, and Darcy Bird, along with coach Beth Oxley, recently traveled to Canberra to attend the national level 7-10 training camp which was held at the Australian Institute of Sport. The camp ran from the 25-28th of June and was attended by gymnasts from around the country.
The girls completed up to 6 hours of training each day, during which they received assistance from some of Australia’s expert coaches. The girls worked on refining some of their current skills as well as working on plenty of new ones. Other activities included self-massage classes and experiencing the hot/cold recovery pools. As part of the camp, the girls also completed strength and flexibility testing. At the end of the camp, Isabella had received the highest score on the standing broad jump test, and Kylie-Ann received the top score for flexibility testing! This is an awesome result!
