Q1 for WAG gymnasts 14-15th March 2014

Friday night there were 3 representatives from High Flyers competing in the higher levels 7- 10.

Izzy Simillion had a good competition with an excellent floor routine. Bridget had two unfortunate falls on bars and one on beam but kept composed throughout the comp and competed new skills for the first time.

Georgia had highs and lows. A good vault which placed her 6th. Bars saw a couple of stops but still placed 5th. Then on beam she had two falls in which the second fall Georgia hurt her big toe. She kept her spirits high and completed the routine and then had to go on and compete her floor routine with a swollen toe. Great determination shown.

Saturday 15th saw our Junior and Senior National 6 gymnasts compete in the first qualification.

Maddie Cawood had a clean competition with only a couple of minor wobbles to place 6th overall and 4th on beam. Mia Forder placed 5th on bars and passed her badge. Grace Poland placed 6th on bars and also passed her badge. Massive congratulations to both girls. Unfortunately Zoe Walsh had some falls throughout the competition and didn’t get the pass mark, but she keep fighting and did not give up. Zoe will be aiming to pass her badge in Q2 in a couple of weeks.

Amanda was our only representative at the senior national 6 and performed beautifully. She had two unfortunate falls on beam but everything else was faultless. She scored 14.75 on floor out of a possible 15.6. That is a fantastic score! Amanda placed 1st overall and also on Vault, bars and floor. 6th on beam. Congratulations.
